För att komma Gardners sätt att tänka och kvinno-barnsyn litet närmre in på livet är det till stor hjälp att bekanta sig med hur hans egna uttalanden gestaltar sig, som tex dessa som inte kan definieras som annat än rent ut sagt barbariska:

Alltså torde det ha varit förenat med stora insatser i form av psykiskt och fysiskt våld och repressalier att jaga bort dessa inflytelserika matriarker från den offentliga arenan och avväpna deras, såväl som övriga mödrars, föräldraauktoritet.

And her increased sexuality may lessen the need for her husband to return to their daughter for sexual gratification.”
